Well it has been a few months from when I said to people on Tweaked for your Pleasure that I will be doing a contest and well, I have no idea what to do a contest about – until today!
In the past I was thinking of doing something like “who can comment the most” or “who can do X the most” and then I was thinking of something like “Try to work out what X means” and while the second one is very interesting, I have found many people simply are not able to work it out.
So I thought for some time what could be a fun contest which would both be interesting to see and would actually allow people to think but also for anyone to enter. With all this in mind I have decided to start a contest so welcome too…. (more…)
Back when IRC first came around it allowed people to contact another person in real-time and sometime later, Instant Messaging such as MSN, GTalk and others were born. Over time these IM clients involved to run on just about anything that has a connection to the Internet and thus with this people started to get used to being able to contact anyone at any time and expect a reply back right away.
I am sure everyone knows that person who will always keep sending messages when you do not reply in less than a microsecond. I am sure you also know the ones that if you do not reply in a nanosecond they say: (more…)
So the other day I was standing in line at a Government building awaiting to meet up with someone when this foreigner walked into the building. Now that in itself was not surprising and heck, there is not really anything wrong with that but it was the next bit that happened was the interesting bit.
Do not get me wrong, I would prefer a world where anyone can travel anywhere and live, but if you come over to a country then expect to see their people, their culture and their way of living and do not go bitching when you suddenly meet up with the people that has been living there way longer then you.
So thatâ€™s my rant for the week, not a lot but a few pretty pictures. So to sum up â€“ if you go anywhere for any reasons, respect the people and culture over there and no one will actually give a shit that you are there.
The Internet has given society many wonderful things. It has allowed the World Wide Web to work, allows files to be transferred and so much more but has it really gotten to a point where everything we do has to be done online.
The first example is Facebook. I am aware lately so many people are moaning, begging even, about being accepted on my Facebook account or I simply am not friends with them. I am not sure how that works but surely that must mean I chat and only do social things with my friends online. In fact, let me find out. (more…)
