The first of many reviews to come and this one comes from the massive wonderful supermarket chain known as ASDA. For those that do not know that quite a lot of the different ASDA supermarkets offers food which is done by a different company whom name escapes my mind right now.
Nonetheless, I decided to give their chips and cheese a try although I suppose technically it should be called cheesy fries. I am not going to talk about service as everything I am reviewing is cheap food and seeing food will range from a single British Sterling to a few pennies that it would be unfair to comment on any service.
As you can see in the photo above, you do get quite a lot of fries and only a handful of cheese. The cheese itself seems to be your standard non-mild Cheddar and tasted as you would expect. The fries themselves was pretty tasteless and had no seasoning at all beyond the cheese.
Overall for the £1-ish that it cost it was nice enough and I remember it used to come on a tray but it came on a plastic tray so I guess you can eat it out if the wind doesn’t screw you over. The best part was for another pound you can buy a completely refillable drink and that is quite rare in the tiny United Kingdom!
As many people may know from reading Tweaked for your Pleasure, I do tend to eat a lot of fast food and other non healthy food. I am sure many of the reasons why people do tend to these food like this is mostly for two reasons;
They do not have time to make healthier food (although it is NOT that hard nor long to do).
They believe that the “healthy” food does not taste as good.
While I can understand the first option, it is the second option I do not understand. While I will agree food like that does taste very nice but it does not last. Now I am not sure if I am the only person who this happens too but when I am eating something like chips & cheese that I will enjoy while a lot of it but after a while I start to get a salty sickly taste that will start to appear. Out of all my articles that talks about random things – this one beats them all.
Let me set the background. So yesterday night I was typing away on my laptop then the thought slowly came to me that I really should have a nap for an hour or so and then carry on. So I turn the music down, switch over all chat clients over to my PDA and then push my laptop to the side and lay down.
After a few minutes I went to sleep. A short while later (around thirty minutes later), I hear my PDA buzzing like there is no tomorrow and woke up where suddenly, on my laptop lid I see the following.
Confused, I opened it up to check what it actually was and well, it was chips and cheese.
At this point, I was again confused. So after eating the chips and cheese and then replying to a few messages, I then went on to wonder a few things. First of all, why the hell was their chips and cheese from what appeared to be from a fast food outlet next to me when no one else was even here ?
So peeps I have a question for you all.
Do you know where this place could have been, it was nice - I would not mind going there myself. If the packaging and the style of the chips etc ring a bell with any major fast food outlets, let me know
Would have took better pictures, but I did not turn the light on and well I did not actually plan on writing this article – I was just gonna post it on Twitter with the message how the hell did that get there but this morning I figured an article would have be better.
Very rarely do I ever have an issue with people who lobbies in the streets to try to get people to change their mind on things with the likes of global warming as long as they are not a douche about it and if you are not interested in listening that they walk away. From experience most of those are good people and are rarely annoying but I remember this one time that one of them just would not let it go and yes, I do meet people like this way more often than I think should legally be possible.
So this story starts with me walking around a local town just minding my business and listening to music when suddenly, I thought the following. Continue reading →
