McPlant: My Review

When it comes to vegan food it is in a very weird place that is hard to explain but from what I see the McPlant isn’t designed for people who are vegans but rather people who want to cut down on the amount of meat that they eat should it be for environmental or ethical reasons.

With this in mind, I am going to write the review based on someone that typically ate meat as I imagine most people who are vegan would rather not eat things that taste like meat. If I am wrong please do let me know in the comments but with that said let’s start with the review.

I am a person that is cutting down on the amount of meat I am eating and once fried chicken gets to the point I am unable to tell the difference easily is the day I would move over to a vegetation diet (I am not cutting out cheese) and when I was at McDonald’s after a test drive of a scooter for a review I saw the McPlant and figured why not.

The McPlant itself comes in one of their premium boxes and when you open it up it does look like a burger although when you touch it the texture feels wrong and I think this is something that most people will find with meat alternatives. For the burger I ordered I removed the tomatoes and I took a bite and honestly I couldn’t tell a difference.

Really. I could not tell a difference when I took a bite and I find it interesting that I couldn’t tell a difference with the cheese either which I learned after a bit of research after eating it that the cheese itself is a vegan one and for processed cheese, I would have no complaints eating this.

Below you will find the nutrition information regarding the burger from McDonald’s website and you will find that just because something is vegan doesn’t make it healthy!

Overall what did I think about the burger? I liked and could not tell a difference between this and a normal beef burger and should the price start going down to the same as a beef burger (which would happen in time should it be adopted by the masses) I would eat this over a beef burger.

The main letdown of this burger is the texture and I am not sure if this is something that can easily change but the more think about it as I write this review I am not sure if that is something that would be a problem when you get used to it.

With all this said, I rate the burger the following.
