Update 5/03/2013 ~ I am noticing a lot of people are finding this website via Googling if Co.CC is going to return. Sadly I doubt it is going to come back at all.
For those with better memory than a gold-fish on crack, a year or so back I wrote an article about Co.cc and how you can use them with email and I also did a Co.cc referral review but it seems as of today they might have pulled the plug.
For those that may not know, Co.CC was a free sub domain service that gave you a sub domain (like snat.co.cc) and then gave you full DNS access so you could use it as you would a normal domain and the service worked great – even I used them for a few throw away domains but that is where the problem came in. A reader has informed me that the place I went too was called Twinlakes Park, Melton Mowbray. Having a look at the website, I can remember the place very well.
This article is a part of three so it will all make sense when you read them all. Anyhow the other day I was speaking to Cassie after she read Tweaked for your Pleasure and asked about why every article seem to be about people who are “big scary meanies” and nothing that shows the world can be fun and all that. Web hosting is very important if you want to get a website hosting as it is this that allows people to host a website in the first place. Many years ago you was able to get a web host for about £5 a month which given you something like 500MB hard drive space and maybe 2GB data transfer.
Over the years that bandwidth and hardware got cheaper and cheaper and it got to a point in which people started to offer things like 10GB hard drive space, 100GB data transfer for around the same price of £5 a month.
However it did not stop then. Finally some people started to offer unlimited web hosting. Basically what this means is you can use as much data transfer you like, hard drive space you like for just a low price of something like £3 a month (I am sure if you shop around, you can find it for $1.00 a year).
