What must now be months ago I was speaking with a friend and I got asked a question

“Why do you like Wonder Woman so much”

While at the time I couldn’t think of much I thought seeing I am trying to do a post a week on this blog I figured this question would be a nice one to answer.

For those that do not know, or don’t care enough, Wonder Woman is my favourite superhero and if I were to sum it up in a couple of words it is her strength, courage and intelligence are the major qualities I like but the thing I always admired with Wonder Woman fighting isn’t her first choice of defeating someone but rather diplomacy and negotiation. I am sure most people reading this know who Wonder Woman is but if not let me catch you up.

Political Correctness has made us racist

I am sure everyone has heard of the term “political correctness” but if you have not it is a term used for all the bullshit people say you must do when no gives a shit. I am sure you have noticed in the media you will always hear people call a “different coloured” skin person an “African American” although the person may have been born in Europe but hey, political correctness means we must apply a Government label to everyone.

So while we have our African-American what do you think we call “white-coloured people” these days?

Legal issues in setting up an internet based radio station

Legal Minefield

As you may know I currently been doing a radio station called Tweaked for your Listening Pleasure and I asked a friend of mine called Dave over at Amazing World Music (yep, same person that provides the music in my videos) about the legal side of it and lets just say there was barely anything out there when it comes to online radio in the United Kingdom.

With that in mind, Dave went out researching and has compiled a report on what he found out. All credit goes to him and hopefully it helps someone else. Just remember none of us are lawyers and well, we can be wrong. Any comments, different view points or if anyone actually is a lawyer in this field – please do comment as we would love know the law exactly.

Latin has seen better days

Now it is quite rare that I find something on the World Wide Web that is worth looking at and today I am writing about one of them. So, someone, I follow on Twitter discovered a new interesting project called “Dotsies” and after having a look at it – I have to say that I am very impressed. The idea behind the thing is simply to look at replacing the Latin script for reading. As you may know that the Latin script is now over 1000 years old and it has served its time well.

Having originally been designed to allow people to easily write, it takes up too much space today when devices are getting smaller and smaller. Dotsies are a little different to how the Arabic numbering system replaced the old roman numeral (such as how we write 12345 and not MMMMMMMMMMMMCCCXLV).

The main change as I am sure you have seen in the image above is that each letter has now been changed into dots (and a further small dot for capital letters). As I am sure you will see this ends up allowing more text to be displayed at any given time which is again useful for small devices. I am going to show you in a minute some sample text but remember that this is read exactly the same as English – nothing changes other than what is used to write the letter in the first place so all you need to learn is what dot is what which is something you could learn in 30 minutes if you put your mind to it.

Shut them up

Image: Maggie Smith / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

It seems everyone either loves them or hates them but children are one of the most annoying things that exist on Earth. While children are needed to keep our genetic bloodlines going children should not have a free pass to do whatever the hell they like and get away with it.

The topic of children has come up before on Tweaked for your Pleasure but I just had to write and try just one thing. While I was in the British Library the other day just doing some peaceful research for a future blog article (yes, I was researching) some child was placed right next to me screaming as loud as she could.
