Losing sight

When people start a blog, Let’s Play or whatever they normally start doing so because they enjoy it and not start simply for the sake of profit if you are lucky people will notice what you do and join you with what you are enjoying doing. If you are unlucky then you either carry on doing it because you enjoy it or give up and move to something else.

Over time you will start to get better and better (only have to look at Tweaked for your Pleasure’s archive) and with this, you will aim to become better and better. This could mean a better writer, editor, gamer and whatnot but regardless you will aim to improve on it and this is what will define you.

Farewell WordPress email updates

It has been a few months now from when I started using WordPress Jetpack for email updates and honestly, it sucks. I am unable to limit which post it sends out, which categories and hell, I can’t delay the sending of it.

What this means is I am switching back to Feedburner for email updates. Now I have seen that there is actually more people on Feedburner than WordPress Jetpack but for those that may have never signed up for the old Feedburner emails you can do so here: Subscribe to Tweaked for your Pleasure by Email.

I will be updating the site to change the email subscription to Feedburner but will be enabling it for the next article. I will leave the old one running for a while and then will slowly get rid of it. I would import the old emails myself, but ethically for those that didn’t sign up for Feedburner would be signing up for something they never want and that is spam.

Unlimited hosting does not exist

Web hosting is very important if you want to get website hosting as it is this that allows people to host a website in the first place. Many years ago you were able to get a web host for about £5 a month which gave you something like 500MB of hard drive space and maybe 2GB of data transfer.

Over the years that bandwidth and hardware got cheaper and cheaper and it got to a point in which people started to offer things like 10GB hard drive space, and 100GB data transfer for around the same price of £5 a month.

However, it did not stop then. Finally, some people started to offer unlimited web hosting. Basically what this means is you can use as much data transfer as you like, and hard drive space as you like for just a low price of something like £3 a month (I am sure if you shop around, you can find it for $1.00 a year).
