Legal issues in setting up an internet based radio station

As you may know I currently been doing a radio station called Tweaked for your Listening Pleasure and I asked a friend of mine called Dave over at Amazing World Music (yep, same person that provides the music in my videos) about the legal side of it and lets just say there was barely anything out there when it comes to online radio in the United Kingdom.

With that in mind, Dave went out researching and has compiled a report on what he found out. All credit goes to him and hopefully it helps someone else. Just remember none of us are lawyers and well, we can be wrong. Any comments, different view points or if anyone actually is a lawyer in this field – please do comment as we would love know the law exactly.

Corporation’s approved Internet

As you may know in the United States right now, corporations are currently fighting for the legal right to be able to censor the Internet at the DNS level for whatever reason they want to make up and regardless of what you think – it is a real threat not only in the United States but Europe as well.

Imagine loading up YouTube so that you can watch some new videos from your favourite puppet singer only to find out that the person has been sent to prison, the site the owner had deleted all because a corporation lawyer saw the video and decided they did not like it that they could get it to shut down. This is the future the United States is rapidly heading too and if it passes, expect it to fly right into the European Union “because it is the right thing to do”.
