What must now be months ago I was speaking with a friend and I got asked a question

“Why do you like Wonder Woman so much”

While at the time I couldn’t think of much I thought seeing I am trying to do a post a week on this blog I figured this question would be a nice one to answer.

For those that do not know, or don’t care enough, Wonder Woman is my favourite superhero and if I were to sum it up in a couple of words it is her strength, courage and intelligence are the major qualities I like but the thing I always admired with Wonder Woman fighting isn’t her first choice of defeating someone but rather diplomacy and negotiation. I am sure most people reading this know who Wonder Woman is but if not let me catch you up.

Has RTS games went the way of the dodo?

The memories of Command & Conquer
The memories of Command & Conquer … yes I know it OpenRA before you ask.

If you were to ask me what type of games I prefer and enjoy the most you may be surprised to hear my answer would be Real Time Strategies.

I can still remember all the many upon many hours I spent playing all the different versions of Command & Conquer, Age of Empires, Rise of Nations, Starcraft and quite a few more but it is sad nowadays to see online communities for this genre of game is slowly disappearing and even the likes of OpenRA, C&CNet and smaller communities are disappearing.

The problem with the games

Short of living under a rock for the last year, I’m pretty sure you have heard all about the Olympic games and that the Paralympic games are now started and not too surprisingly there seems to be a lack of interest in it … and I’m not that surprised.

When the Olympic games become known who is hosting and the other stuff it does (am a great believer it should stay in Greece but that’s a debate for another day about IOC corruption) there is an insane amount of hype built into the marketing which successfully causes quite a lot of people to attend or watch it. The problem with this is that the Paralympic suffers from this as by the time the Olympics is over the hype is over and if it was shown before the Olympics people still would not be interested as the hype is built over the Olympics.

Your child is not my problem

It is not often I find things to moan about, it just looks that way by how often I post but today I came across something that I figured was worth writing about.

So today I was in the local town picking up a few things I needed when I came across a woman who was with her child. Now there is not much you can say about that but after I picked some things up, I then went up to the local library so I could pass a few hours until the next bus came so I could go home where this woman and her child once again turns up.

Read the highway code

I am not sure how many people on Tweaked for your Pleasure drives beyond virtual gaming and all that but for those that do, I am sure everyone has seen drivers that seem to have never even heard of the highway code – let alone even seem to have seen another person on the road.

So the other day I had one of these rare trips into Grantham where I use a car. Anyhow, I finally found a car park on the side of the street at which point I parked. The person in front of me had loads of room to move out and also had loads of room so others could park in front of the person.
