I was asked this interesting question by a friend of mine which was this;

Is it possible for Science to die ?

Well, I was thinking about this and to be honest, no science can not and never will die. Science itself is just a process of gaining knowledge via the scientific method of pretty much anything that can be repeated. An example is that if you rid two wooden sticks together (under certain conditions) then fire will be “created”.

Some will call this “common sense” or something like that but in theory, that is science itself. Sure back then fire was first discovered that they would not have documented it or use any process of peer review but it was repeatable and always will be under certain conditions. I think that most people seem to that to do science that you need to be wearing a white laboratory coat (or whatever colour is used for the standard where you live) and write a massive paper and get everything peered review before it is “Å“science”.

But, that isn’t true. Everyone does science everyday as we do things that we know if we do again that it repeats and that is science. Science is not about making nuclear bombs, killer zombies, GM Crops or about travelling to the far end of space but rather just a process of being able to repeat something and that the same happens.

Just remember – Science is only able to tell us how something happens, never why it happens. So to answer your question, no it can never die as it exists way longer then even the word science.

Wow, a short post for once – Will this become a habit in return for more articles but not as long ?

History has shown us many things. It has shown us patterns, it has shown us the answers to many questions that humans has asked. However, history has shown us one thing. It has shown us that a single answer is never the answer. I bet that what I have just said is confusing and it isn’t really. I am going to just take two examples – Religion and Science (oh boy, I wonder where this is heading …).

Religion has given us the answer to our questions however that answer in itself was answered many times. Different religions fight over what they believe to be the correct answer. Some people say that the answer is right while others says the answer is wrong. War starts over that. It is easy to say that religion only causes war but that isn’t true. Religion is a matter of faith. Science is the same. Science has given us an answer to a question but it also gives us many answers to the same question. Many different scientists have worked on the same questions as each other and they come up with different answers. The only difference between religion and science in that matter is that war hasn’t started over science yet but it will. One day, people will fight over a scientific theory and whom has the correct one. Science, just like religion, is faith. You have to have faith that the answer is the correct one.

Together, religion and science answers are used to answer each other – one of them alone isn’t able to do it.
