Vista and all it’s Glory

October 5, 2008 - ו' תשרי תשס"ט Dudeman3 Posted in Adult, Computing, Internet, Just listen, Meh, Really random stuff, Useless Crap No Comments »

heheheh, I misspled that title it was meant to say Vista and all it’s Gore, but anyway this is a post about my misshaps with Vista thats right Microsoft Vista possibly the worst to be release by Microsoft.

Now to start with is the name of the company: Microsoft (what the hell kind of name is that, it’s not bloody micro if it where micro i would be able to fit it on a 6Gb hdd [ yes i have one of those but what is weird is that the drive itself it huge ] now that is what I think of Microsoft)

Now for Vista I am on my 3rd time or maybe my 4th I can’t exactly remember because it has so many bad things, but i can tell you this windows defender is not a game, and not only XP but Vista needs and antivirus and antispyware software now that i didn’t know a couple of days ago but if i did I probably wouldn’t be using mandriva right now, (only cause it managed to install on my IDE 160Gb hdd, but ) other that that Vista Is CRAP and i mean that in the most nice way possible, ok DEJA-VU here.

Well if you ever get a trojan on your vista machine make sure before hand you made a backup of your system because i sure didn’t and that trojan was a pain i could load anything nor could i even shutdown my PC it was that bad. although i guess there probably was some other viruses on there, but who knows luckily i don’t keep perrrrsonal files on my machine, lol, i write them down on a piece of paper yey,

Byee bye everrybody and byee bye vista, wuhuhahahahaaa, woops i can stop typing now, stop typing ok rick you can stop now stop typing what yours thinking ok that was kreepy talking to myself and typing what i am saying cool, i like doing this and right now while you read this i am still typing weeeeeeeeeee. KO KO OK now byee bye

Comcast is now limiting bandwidth - what it means to you

October 3, 2008 - ד' תשרי תשס"ט Snat Posted in Internet, Just listen No Comments »

A new day is coming and this day is a day in which what we do on the internet is now limited. As I said, ComCast, a large ISP in the USA, has started to cap their users at 250GB bandwidth per month. Now, I easily go over that every month, but to most people that ain’t a problem as they don’t reach that much - or do you ?

As soon as people are happy to be capped, the ISP’s will lower and lower and lower the cap to where it is something like 2GB a month (Wait, that already happened in the UK, ain’t it). What will then happen is that developers will have to lower their bandwidth usage for people who has lower bandwidth limits.

Social Fraud - Getting quite easy nowadays

September 3, 2008 - ג' אלול תשס"ח Snat Posted in Computing, Internet No Comments »

Well, this post in a direct reply to yet another blog post that I written and that was about Facebook being the home of forgotten passwords.

Social Networks are a place to meet people that you might never ever know and that is true, you never know who the other person is on the other side. With the likes of Facebook and MySpace, it is so easy to be accepted as a friend on their profile.

Basically, what this means (Not including limited view on Facebook right now) is that you can see whatever details they have put such as birthdays. If you remember of that last post I did, that was a key on getting access to someone domain etc.

Well, you might also notice on Facebook that adding apps, it asks you should you want to accept that the app is able to access your data. An app such as a harmless “Rate your friend” could turn into “Rate your friend & Profit for them”. I say profit for them as that app can easily save your address and other details about you and then sell it on to whoever wants it.

It is common for e-mails to be sold over the internet and this results in spam in your inbox. Your address could be sold and this could result in more spam to your home or even worst, another “you” walking around.

If you want to stay safe, only add friends. Don’t put down details you don’t want anyone to know and remove ads you no longer use. Facebook etc should make it so that the apps reports back how much data is has about the person but then again, that won’t be hard to bypass.

Stay safe on the internet ;)

Post2Trade

August 8, 2008 - ז' אב תשס"ח Snat Posted in Computing, Internet No Comments »

This is a copy of the post I have made on Post2Trade

Welcome to what is the first official announcement that Post2Trade will make. We hope that we will be making many more in the years to come.

I am sure that Post2Trade main idea has already been done before however Post2Trade hopes to become a web resource to start getting posts and topics to your new, or even certain community. Post2Trade is owned by myself (Matt Ellis) and an old friend, Richard Mann.

The idea of Post2Trade started simply to help people get a few topics and posts and instead of it being a paid post service, I decided to open a community in which community’s admin can exchange posts with other community’s admins and ultimately, will become a member of that community.

Now, what you see is the idea is action. Now, I could post a little more about what this community but I hope that you enjoy this service, this community.

Thanks for reading.

Reasons why you shouldn’t use a free forum host

August 7, 2008 - ו' אב תשס"ח Snat Posted in Computing, Internet No Comments »

Now that the summer is here, everyone will notice that alot of new forums will becoming online and I more then welcome it. Now, there will be two type of people that will start a forum and they are,

  1. Someone starting a forum for fun, and that is all (Those people can ingore this post).
  2. Someone starting a foru, for fun but wants to make a profit one day (Read this post).
  3. Someone just looking for profit (Read this post).

Nowadays, starting a forum is very easy. You google - Free Forum Hosting, click one and sign up and then it is done. All you need to do setup all the forums etc and start getting members to the site. Now normally, your site will have ads on it and that is good as it pays for the server that hosts everything for you.

Now, the main limit with free forum host is that you are normally unable to add your own custom code to the actual source file. Sure, you can add some HTML normally to get a tiny chat room or something but the real power of mods happens when you get access to the core files and sadly, that won’t happen.

Now, this ain’t always an issue but if you use a free forum host, check to make sure if it offers backups to you(even for a fee). If you can get the backup, at least you know that if something happens that you can restore it elsewhere and that you can even move your forum to a self hosted service. Now, make sure you check before signing up as I know of one major free forum host that don’t offer it unless you massively broke the terms of service (Copyright porn anyone ?).

Now, if you want to use free forum host, I would say that you either use Ultima Forums* or Invision Free as ultimately, you can get a back and move on.

* No longer directly related to Ultima Development Laboratories

Why you should use a free forum host, coming soon.

Facebook - The Home of Forgotten Passwords and Details

August 1, 2008 - כ"ט תמוז תשס"ח Snat Posted in Computing, Internet, Just listen, Security No Comments »

This was done in a hurry, so any spelling mistakes, please don’t bother me with.

As you may know that Facebook is a social network website in which people can contact other people (Such as friends) and interact with them. On Facebook people can add apps which add many new things onto the person Facebook profile such as interactive games, quizes and many other random things which stops people from doing work or whatever they were doing before hand.

When somebody adds an app that it gives access to that app access to your personal details that you likely have inserted into Facebook. That app can record all your details into a database and the creator of that app can then do whatever the person wants to do with it (Didn’t say “legally”).

Everything below this is eductional usage only. Read the rest of this entry »

Ebay - The never ending feedback loop …

May 11, 2008 - ו' אייר תשס"ח Snat Posted in Internet No Comments »

Anybody who uses Ebay knows that you first;Ebay - It is cheaper for a reason

  • Search for what you want
  • Click what you want
  • Read it
  • Bid
  • Get outbidded
  • Bid again
  • Get outbidded
  • Don’t win
  • Other person don’t pay so you do
  • Win the bid (Or click buy now)
  • Pay
  • Get the item (Not always though)

Now, I have stopped there for a reason  as the next part can get confusing.

Now, the seller is normally the one that has to leave the feedback first and if they don’t, the seller won’t leave a feedback.

Now, for some reason, I thought that the feedback system was so that you can see who is a good member on Ebay.

Now, if the buyer pays then I think the sell should leave a rating WITHOUT waiting to see if the buyer has leave a rating. Now, once the item get to the buyer and everything is fine, then the buyer should leave a rating.

Oh, I really should stop dreaming as sellers won’t do that as the buyer may put a negtive feedback and they can’t “defend” themselves. One can moan that the buyer won’t do it first as they can’t defend themselve if the sell put a negtive feedback.

You have an idea to improve the feedback system ?
