Vista and all it’s Glory

October 5, 2008 - ו' תשרי תשס"ט Dudeman3 Posted in Adult, Computing, Internet, Just listen, Meh, Really random stuff, Useless Crap No Comments »

heheheh, I misspled that title it was meant to say Vista and all it’s Gore, but anyway this is a post about my misshaps with Vista thats right Microsoft Vista possibly the worst to be release by Microsoft.

Now to start with is the name of the company: Microsoft (what the hell kind of name is that, it’s not bloody micro if it where micro i would be able to fit it on a 6Gb hdd [ yes i have one of those but what is weird is that the drive itself it huge ] now that is what I think of Microsoft)

Now for Vista I am on my 3rd time or maybe my 4th I can’t exactly remember because it has so many bad things, but i can tell you this windows defender is not a game, and not only XP but Vista needs and antivirus and antispyware software now that i didn’t know a couple of days ago but if i did I probably wouldn’t be using mandriva right now, (only cause it managed to install on my IDE 160Gb hdd, but ) other that that Vista Is CRAP and i mean that in the most nice way possible, ok DEJA-VU here.

Well if you ever get a trojan on your vista machine make sure before hand you made a backup of your system because i sure didn’t and that trojan was a pain i could load anything nor could i even shutdown my PC it was that bad. although i guess there probably was some other viruses on there, but who knows luckily i don’t keep perrrrsonal files on my machine, lol, i write them down on a piece of paper yey,

Byee bye everrybody and byee bye vista, wuhuhahahahaaa, woops i can stop typing now, stop typing ok rick you can stop now stop typing what yours thinking ok that was kreepy talking to myself and typing what i am saying cool, i like doing this and right now while you read this i am still typing weeeeeeeeeee. KO KO OK now byee bye

The Dummies Guide to Unbricking The PSP- for dummies and n00b’s

September 28, 2008 - כ"ח אלול תשס"ח Dudeman3 Posted in Computing, Gaming No Comments »

We where all noob’s once apon a time… In the PSP world anyway.

All you have to do is read what it says below, and follow it to Unbrick your PSP without using another PSP to create the Unbricker. Please if you have any comment on this don’t hesitate to ask.

Oh and if there are any dead links please mention it.

Now on with the show…

So I am supposed to talk to you about the Unbricking process for the PSP, but instead I am going to tell you, and give you a step by step guide to the cheapest and easiest way to unbrick a PSP Phat/Slim and Lite (aka old or new).

Pandora Magic Memory Stick is what it is called in this document but from now on we shall call it PMMS, ok.

On this the PMMS I will pretty much show you how anyone can unbrick their PSP. In doing this you will need a:
copy of 7z software “google it” (couldn’t resist)
Memory Stick (aka MS) Pro Duo. minimum of 512Mb, (which is for nand backup, we’ll get to that later)
PSP (der) doesn’t matter if it is an old or new, it will work either way
a card reader for your computer that supports MS Pro Duo
and last but not least (whatever that means ‘joke’)
A one of these http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/5…batteryxh9.png it is called a tool battery (as you can see, you can buy them on ebay) it is used to unbrick your PSP, without it this is useless.

What you also need to do is have at least 512Mb of storage space on you computer to download this file,

http://rapidshare.com/files/136281512/PMMS.7z.html
this is what you will copy to the root of your MS after you have followed these extremely simple steps.

Step 1: Unzip the file you just downloaded
Step 2: Now unzip the file called formatter
Step 3: Open the formatter folder and run the file called formatter
Step 4: Follow what it says on the screen, and then once you’ve done that come back to this guide.

Right now you have logically formatted you MS, all you have to do now is unzip the file called Shortend pandora booter.7z,

extract the contents of this file to the root of your MS to create your PMMS, Then wait

While it extracts you can nip to the loo, or even get a drink, lol.

Ok Now that it has extracted to the root, all you have to do is safely remove the MS.
Now put it in your PSP and then while putting the battery (tool battery) in hold down L trigger (aka the left shoulder
button) and it should boot into a thing called UPMS (Ultimate Pandora MS), from here just click on the first thing lit up at
the top of the menu, right follow what it says here, (it may prompt you to do a nand bump do so) what you can do now is you
could install the official firmware or install the cutom firmware, I highly recommend noobs to install the official firmware
thats the one that doesn’t have m33 next to its name, its the second one you want.

While it installs once again you can go away and do something else or you could just sit there and look at it, your choice
but DO NOT TAKE OUT THE BATTERY, MEMORY STICK OR TURN OFF THE PSP WHILE IT DOES THIS because it will NOT help. I highly
recommend once it is completely installed reboot into that UPMS screen (remember?) and back up your nand you may do this lots
of different way but this is very important,
just load the part that says Tools & Options, then click on the one that says NandTool and then select the part you want to backup i think it was R trigger thats the right shoulder button.
Read the next part very carefully and make sure you keep the backed up nand in a safe and virus free place.

Once done all that you can just turn off the PSP and there you have an unbricked PSP.
PS. if you have to use the memory stick for some other reason take a copy of the memory stick and pop it in again a safe and virus free place.

I remember I had a very close call once I almost lost my psp for good, and luckily I found a copy of my psp’s nand wich was a

big success.

Well I hope you enjoyed reading this guide nearly as much as I did making it, please if you have any question email me at

dudeman3@fsmail.net and put the subject as PMMS, and thank you for downloading from that link, I will try to upload it on another site other than Rapidshare. (aka megaupload)

not so small print; I willnot and cannot be held responsible for what could happen to your psp other than what you have done

to it, I have not pirated nor have I done this for a profit, I only did this to help those who needed the help. And so I say

goodbye, Byee bye.

providing identity management, single sign-on, user, group and computer
provisioning, as well as remote management of services. It uses MySQL

it’s data store, with OpenLdap being the primary back end for identity
management and application

Minimal Ubuntu 8.04 Server Install

Minimal Ubuntu 8.04 Server Install

I find myself removing packages that I don’t need, especially if the
packages belong to processes that are using processor resources. There
is a way to start from the ground up, you can have a minimal system and
just add what you need. This has the added benefit of extra security,
your system doesn’t have services running that you don’t use. You won’t
use a Ubuntu Server CD, but the Desktop Live CD.

Installing KDE 4.1 on Mandriva

September 11, 2008 - י"א אלול תשס"ח Snat Posted in Computing No Comments »

Personally, I believe Mandriva is one of the best Linux dist out that people can use and I even personally use it myself.

What I have notice is Mandriva tends to be a little slow in getting newer software out onto it’s repo so that people can upgrade and I am sure Mandriva has it’s reasons but for people that want KDE 4 on their Mandriva Desktops now, this is a little guide.

CLI (Terminal)

If you don’t have a desktop, or if you are like me just use the terminal for pretty much everything then the commands you want are below. (They are copied and pasted from my terminal, so remove the first part of the command).

[snat@tweek ~]$ su
Password:

[root@tweek snat]# urpmi.addmedia –update kde4 ftp://ftp.oregonstate.edu/pub/kde/stable/4.1.0/Mandriva/RPMS/i586/

[root@tweek snat]# urpmi –auto-update -v

Now leave it to do it’s thing (Unless it asks for something from ya).

Once it is all done, log out and reboot and then enjoy your new KDE4 Desktop.

This how-to has worked when I used it. If it doesn’t work for you then post a question and I might be able to help but I can’t promise this will work for everyone.

ReactOS - Just how good are you right now ?

September 9, 2008 - ט' אלול תשס"ח Snat Posted in Computing No Comments »

As of writting this blog post that ReactOS is in 0.3.6 (Alpha) and already, it looks like it will become a good operating system. The reason I will call it a good operating system is the fact that it is an open source clone of Windows. Now, I ain’t one to like Windows but lets face it, most people use it so it is good for something and it is about time someone decided to clone it.
If everything goes well then ReactOS might even replace Windows one day but enough about a time today, lets focus on the now. ReactOS is being designed so that ultimately it will run any Windows Software and hardware. Right now, it is doing an okay job.

Below, I have some screenshots of installing ReactOS (Within VirtualBox OSE) and having a look at some of it’s features (Now remember, it ain’t done yet so don’t judge it all based on this).

Click Read More for screenshots.

Installing Cross Over Games - For Free

September 4, 2008 - ד' אלול תשס"ח Snat Posted in Computing, Gaming No Comments »

Honestly, I have got very bored of answering this question. The question is can I install Cross Over Games for free or do I need to pay for it. Paying for it is what I would say for you to do as you will get support and you will also be supporting the development of Wine.

In order to installing it for free, you will need to build it via source and not via an RPM or whatever. You might find some RPM packages on the internet and it shouldn’t be illegal anyway if it was done via source. This guide isn’t to find a package you can install, but mearly just to make it via source - Nice and legal.

Social Fraud - Getting quite easy nowadays

September 3, 2008 - ג' אלול תשס"ח Snat Posted in Computing, Internet No Comments »

Well, this post in a direct reply to yet another blog post that I written and that was about Facebook being the home of forgotten passwords.

Social Networks are a place to meet people that you might never ever know and that is true, you never know who the other person is on the other side. With the likes of Facebook and MySpace, it is so easy to be accepted as a friend on their profile.

Basically, what this means (Not including limited view on Facebook right now) is that you can see whatever details they have put such as birthdays. If you remember of that last post I did, that was a key on getting access to someone domain etc.

Well, you might also notice on Facebook that adding apps, it asks you should you want to accept that the app is able to access your data. An app such as a harmless “Rate your friend” could turn into “Rate your friend & Profit for them”. I say profit for them as that app can easily save your address and other details about you and then sell it on to whoever wants it.

It is common for e-mails to be sold over the internet and this results in spam in your inbox. Your address could be sold and this could result in more spam to your home or even worst, another “you” walking around.

If you want to stay safe, only add friends. Don’t put down details you don’t want anyone to know and remove ads you no longer use. Facebook etc should make it so that the apps reports back how much data is has about the person but then again, that won’t be hard to bypass.

Stay safe on the internet ;)

Do your research

August 18, 2008 - י"ז אב תשס"ח Snat Posted in Computing No Comments »

Another day, another company has failed in trying to make me buy their product and I ain’t suprised no more. It was actually pretty clever. What happened is that they link to your WordPress installation and this causes a traceback to happen.

Now, typically linking to your is a good thing but in this case, the company trying to sell the product is now displaying their link within my WordPress Admin CP.

Now, being the type of person I am, I clicked on the link and it took me to a “YOUR COMPUTER HAS VIRUSES” page and not even for a second did I know it was true. On that page, it did an “online scan” and it was showing my C: Drive and D: Drive and scaning the DDL files within my “Windows” folder.

Now, I am pretty sure that some people will go - Oh no, I have viruses but this company will let me remove them. If they actually did some research, they would have known I was a useless person to aim their product at. My user-string for my web browser is

“Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.16) Gecko/20080703 Mandriva/2.0.0.16-1.1mdv2008.0 (2008.0) Firefox/2.0.0.16″

Now, lets just break down it down to the part we actually care about. “Linux i686″ and “Mandriva/2.0.0.16-1.1mdv2008.0″. Basically, a quick second PHP script would have noticed that I am using Linux and forward me to either a “Linux Anti-Virus” or just send that it doesn’t work on my operating system.

So, if you are a company planning on do this, at least do your research into other operating systems first.
