The problem with the games

Short of living under a rock for the last year, I’m pretty sure you have heard all about the Olympic games and that the Paralympic games are now started and not too surprisingly there seems to be a lack of interest in it … and I’m not that surprised.

When the Olympic games become known who is hosting and the other stuff it does (am a great believer it should stay in Greece but that’s a debate for another day about IOC corruption) there is an insane amount of hype built into the marketing which successfully causes quite a lot of people to attend or watch it. The problem with this is that the Paralympic suffers from this as by the time the Olympics is over the hype is over and if it was shown before the Olympics people still would not be interested as the hype is built over the Olympics.

The problem with teaching for exams

If I ever had a passion in life it would be education and the gift of both learning and teaching – it’s why I am a massive fan of edX and currently been doing a course called “Judaism Through Its Scriptures”.

Now with this passion I have been involved in pretty much most of the stages of academia – I have been a student in Further & Higher Education, I have taught at Higher Level Education, I have been a teaching assistant at a few of those levels and I have noticed a major problem that happens and it’s to do with exams.

Let kids be kids

Kid don't care

Kid don’t care.

For anyone that is Catholic, raised in a Catholic family or follow major news outlets would likely have heard that the Holy Father (Pope Francis) said a few hours ago that it is horrible children are being taught that they are “able to choose their gender” and it may strike you as odd as the current Holy Father is quite progressive but honestly he is right.

Children at a young age can not, do not and will not be able to understand how they feel REGARDLESS how often people try to explain it to them and in doing so just pushes pressure onto them that they may otherwise disagree with later.

When its time to switch channels?

They need a move video feature ...

They need a move video feature …

I’m sure quite a few people who still reads Tweaked for your Pleasure is aware I have a YouTube channel where I used to upload a couple of rants about stuff, some product reviews but I’m sure you may have noticed it turned into a gaming channel.

Now not that there is anything wrong with creating a gaming channel as I do enjoy making the videos but at the same time I kinda caused an issue where the fans of my original videos are now being bombed with videos related to gaming that they are not interested in.

Funny thing about sleeping

Surprisingly gets harder to sleep.

Surprisingly gets harder to sleep.

It’s a common fact that the more times you do something you slowly get better at doing those things when you gain more experience but sleeping is one of those things that oddly does not work out like that.

When you think about it when you are in your youth you easily sleep just about anywhere you want and when you want but as you grow older sleeping becomes a much harder thing to do.

With most thing in life the more times you repeat something and practice you end up getting better at it but sleeping is one of those things you need to go out of your way to physically alter many things like diet, lighting and other “sleep health” stuff just so you can get more restful sleep where otherwise other things would just improve over time.

The Taste from Outer-Space!

In the near future a friendly race of aliens make connect with us. They offer us help advancing our technology, they solve global warming, and orchestrate world peace. 5 years after first contact we make a startling discovery. They taste amazing. ~ Reddit Prompt from igame2much

It has been many years now when the aliens from beyond Alpha Centauri arrived on our own planet and I even remember the day. It was a clear day with not a single cloud in the sky when news broken out that an unknown spaceship was sighted within the local solar system. All over the TV and radios were news reports from the UK Space Agency and National Aeronautics and Space Administration that an unknown object was heading towards Earth and that its possible we were looking at another Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event that would bring the end to the Cenozoic Era.

Is it too hard to make a keyboard?

Best phone I ever had!

Best phone I ever had!

Searching the Internet on a mobile phone is okay at the best of times when you are using a touch screen and I can understand why they include them as they allow the devices to become thinner, smaller and all that bollocks but is it seriously that hard to make a good mobile phone that has a good physical keyboard that actually runs modern operating systems?

Although its been a while from when I last used it but the last phone I could remember that had a really good physical keyboard that you could actually write emails on, documents and hell even post on community forums when they still used to exist was the o2 XDA Exec (HTC Universal was the original phone name before it was branded).

Superman V Batman: My Review

This review has spoilers – seriously do not moan about it if you read this.

The important peeps in the Justice League!

The important peeps in the Justice League!

I have finally had the chance to see the new Superman V Batman movie and while I do feel the movie was not bad and was an interesting watch I can not help but feel there was a couple of things that really annoyed it for me and ONE major thing that killed the movie for me – Lex.

So the plot is pretty simple which resolves around Bruce (Batman) feeling that Superman (Clark Kent) is an all too powerful creäture from outer space that even if there is a slight chance of Superman turning against people who it might be taken he will do and thus must be dealt with. At the same time Lex feels the same and tries to get a weapon created so that he kill Superman and other aliens that come down one day.
